Used oil refinery built in the 1960s and shut down in 2009. Approximate refining capacity of 5.5 million tonnes / year. Product outputs: - Ultra-low sulphur diesel & biodiesel - Kerosene & gas oil - Petrochemical feedstocks. Some equipment history: - Crude Oil Distillation Unit (CDU) built in 1996. No licenced technology used. Major upgrades include debottlencecking from orgiinal 60kbpd to 117 kbpd. In 2008 a low NOx project for the furnace was engineered and equipment bought, but it was never used and is held in storage. - Hydrodesulphurization Unit (HDS) designed in 1990 as a 40 tph catalytic dewaxer. Converted in 1996 to a 125 tph HDS unit to produce 50ppm diesel. No licenced technology used. Progressively debottlenecked to 165tph producing 10ppm diesel, achieved useing uprated vacuum drier installed 2006. Nameplate capacity 32000 BPD - Sulferox unit from 1996. No licence fees paid. Ideal for removal of small amounts of sulphur. Nameplate capacity 4 TPD. - Merox unit from 1969 designed to remova mercaptan sulphur. Only limited use since mid 1970s. Nameplate capacity 7500 BPD - LPG recover from 1985. No licence. Nameplate capacity 1600 BPD.
